We cannot 'grasp' our own personality, but we can be aware of what part of our personality we reveal to the outside world. What do others know about you that you don't know yourself? The Johari (Joseph Luft and Harry Ingham) Window provides a model of personal awareness. Google it ;)

Semua terlihat sama. Kemanapun ia melihat, hanya putih lembut bak kapas. Ia memejamkan mata dan kemudian fikiran-fikiran tentang betapa anehnya kejadian hari ini terus menghinggapi. Menggagalkan usahanya untuk tidur. Awan ternyata tak senyaman seperti terlihat dari bawah sana.
For what it’s worth: it’s never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the courage to start all over again.
Every step outside of your comfort zone is one step closer to achieving your most important goal.
Why? 2 words: mental toughness. Everyone knows the heroic story of the 300 Spartans who held off tens of thousands of Persian soldiers in battle. How did they do it? By being tough. An entire lifetime of training, fighting, hunting and practicing had prepared them for any obstacle. The first rule of Spartan life was that Spartans had to prove their fitness–over and over again–which ensured that they were always ready for battle. Today, our greatest battles are mental, not physical. They’re fought in cubicles, supermarkets, on our phones and tablets and while watching TV. Most often we’re fighting our own lack of willpower. Willpower is a finite source and at the end of the day when you’re tired, hungry, and anxious, that’s when you start buying bad food, wasting time on TV, or mindlessly scrolling through your Facebook feed. Mental toughness is more important today than ever before and the good news is that mental toughness can be trained. Mental toughness is developed in two ways: Small wins and long-term habits. That’s why I push myself to step out of my comfort zone and do something that scares me every day. The most important thing you can do to become mentally tough is to practice mental toughness on a daily basis. That’s how momentum is built, which gives you the willpower to persevere through tough times without losing momentum toward your most important goals. If you want to become mentally tough and resilient, hire me as your coach. Together we will define what mental toughness means to you and develop a regiment to make perseverance a habit in itself. Allah asks you in the Quran: "So where are you going?" 81:26
Close your eyes and think about this question for a minute...and think about Who's asking.. **Close your eyes..just for a minute and think** Ok, open them.. "So where are you going?".. Do you have the answer?.. There are many levels to this question.. but instinctively, you know what this question is about.. Instinctively, you realise that it's not asking about where you're going to work or school or university... but asking where are you going with your life.. Where are you heading.. with all the ups/ downs/ hopes/ dreams/ disappointments..the frustrations/anxietieis/excitements.. the missed prayers, missed opportunities to do good, miss behaviour perhaps.. Where are you going with all of this? Where are you going?.. It was a question from Allah.. to you.. found in Surat Al-Takwir, Verse no. 26. When I think about this question.. I think about asking it in 6 different areas of my life..and in each area, there are some sub-questions that I pose to myself first and I'm sharing it with you here to start thinking about them too.. So, where are you going with your Islam?
So, where are you going with your Nafs/Manners/Akhlaq?
So, where are you going as a Family?
So, where are you going with your Work?
So, where are you going as a Community?
So, where are you going as an Ummah?
These six questions should keep coming to our minds whenever we remember the verse "So where are you going?".. Is it a lot to think about it?..It is.. However, what's the alternative?.. Continue to blindly stumble upon life..hoping things work out?.. Don't think so.. at least that's not how a Productive Muslim should live.. - ABU PRODUCTIVE |
